Finally,
a brand for us.
Built on grit, not gimmicks.

Unapologetically built, for a community that has always been here — and never had a brand that looked like us.

The farm taught me
everything I know about grit.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

I grew up on a cattle farm in northern Mexico. Early mornings, hard work, no shortcuts. You earn everything with your hands and you carry your family name with pride — that's just how it was. That's still how it is.

My parents brought me to the United States as a young child. They worked construction and housekeeping, and that work ethic became mine too — I carried it through my education and into my corporate America career, inside a financial institution. Different discipline, same understanding: nothing comes without sweat.

I looked at the athletic and lifestyle space and saw our community everywhere — building this country from the ground up — but never reflected in the brands we were sold. So I built the one that does: Somos Cabrones. For the ones who work for everything, and wear that with pride.

"Cabrón isn't just a word. It's the thing they called us when they wanted us to feel small. We put it on a hoodie. Now it's a badge."

— César Omar, Fundador de Somos Cabrones
WHY THE NAME

Growing up, cabrón was used against us — by fathers, bosses, a world that saw our background as a liability. We took the word back.

Three principles.
One foundation.

Everything Somos Cabrones builds — every product, every pop-up, every Embajador — runs on these three values.

Sin Permiso

We don't seek permission to exist in spaces that overlooked us. We show up and we build.

Orgullo

Pride in where we come from. Power in where we're going. Culture is not a trend — it is the foundation everything is built on.

La Garra

On the farm, you don't stop when you're tired — you stop when the work is done. That's the standard we build to. That's the standard we wear.

Built for a community
that was already here.

35 million Latinos in the US go to the gym, train hard, and build their bodies — and not one major athleisure brand was ever built from the inside of that community. Until now.

They called us cabrón
to make us feel small.

We wear it now to stand tall. Here's what the word actually means — and why we took it back.

cabrón / kɑːˈbroʊn /  ·  masculine noun  ·  Spanish
From insult to badge
Then
A word to keep you small
"¡Eres un cabrón!" — from a father, a boss, a stranger. Used to demean, discipline, or provoke. We all heard it.
Among Us
¿Qué onda, cabrón?
Same word, opposite energy. Between people who trust each other, it became warmth — camaraderie, brotherhood.
Today — Our Definition
Badass. Built. Earned.
Someone who worked for everything. Who carries their roots with pride. No permission needed.
cabrona feminine form  ·  equal power, equal pride

She was called cabrona for refusing to stay small, for speaking up, for leading. She wears it now — and it looks good on her.

cabrones plural  ·  the collective

Somos = we are. Cabrones = the formidable ones. Together: we built something from nothing, and refused to be made small.

Sin Permiso. Taking this word back isn't a gimmick — it's the same move Chicano, Black Pride, and Queer made: turning a word meant to hurt into a source of pride.

The gym is where
we show up now.

For a long time, fitness wasn't part of Latino culture — work was. The rancho, the job site, the double shift. That was the workout. That changed. This generation trains. And they train hard.

Our Grandparents

The workout was the workday. Ranching, construction, the fields. Exercise came from survival — not from a gym. That grit never left us. It just moved indoors.

Our Parents

The first generation to step inside a gym — often alone, without a roadmap. They went for health. They didn't have brands that spoke to them. They made it work anyway.

This Generation

The gym is identity. Community. Pride. 73% of Latino Gen Z use a gym or studio. They post it. They wear it. They're building the bodies and the brands — and they deserve gear that reflects who they actually are.

Black. Bold.
Unapologetic.

Cabrón & Cabrona tees, tanks, and the hoodie — all black, Old English lettering across the chest. The word that used to be used against us. Now it’s on our chest and it stays there.

Hecho en México. Made in the Aztec Empire. Not Mexico as a political statement — as a civilization that predates borders by centuries. Every piece is designed locally and made in México. That’s the whole story on one tag.
